The Ashby Trip
They run four boats, the 20' Rosebud, the 72' Rose and the 72' Bosworth Lady and the Café Wharfside. Rosebud offers 40 minute trips, Jubilee operantes one hour trips from Sutton Cheney while Rose and Bosworth Lady operate longer scheduled and chartered cruises. The licenced Café Wharfside is open for meals from 9pm on some evenings and houses the is a booking office for all boat trips. See also: www.cafewharfside.com
Ashby Boat Company
Based in Stoke Golding they operate a fleet of boats available for day, short break and weekly hire.
Ashby Canal Trust
The Ashby Canal Trust was formed to promote the restoration of the Ashby Canal from Snarestone to Moira, bringing together the various authorities and organizations with an interest in the canal.
Moira Furnace
Moira Furnace is one of the best examples of an early 19th Century iron-making blast furnace anywhere in Europe. It was built in 1804 by Francis Rawdon Hastings, the Earl of Moira, to exploit the wealth of coal and iron ore in the area.

The award winning attraction at The Heart of the National Forest, a unique mix of indoor and outdoor experiences to keep you and your family engaged for hours. Five miles from Junction 11 on the M42.

The Battlefield Line
Running from Shenton to Shackerstone, this preserved railway operates trains most weekends and also has a small museum at Shackerstone which is open every weekend. Both Shackerstone and Shenton stations are within a few yards of the canal.

Shackerstone Family Festival
Jointly organised by the Ashby Canal Association, The Battlefield Line and Shackerstone village. Held annually over the first weekend in September the festival hosts one of the largest gatherings of historic working boats on the waterways and features displays of vintage vehicles, steam trains and aircraft. Craft stalls, a funfair, children's entertainers and a real ale bar add to the atmosphere of this hugely popular event.

The Inland Waterways Association
The IWA promotes the conservation use maintenance and development of the inland waterways of the British Isles through lobbying, consultation, giving advice, organising and providing manpower for projects, fund raising and giving financial aid.
